Moving & Shipping · USA

Moving is not hard.
Not knowing
the steps is.

Most of the worry is not knowing what happens next.
We tell you what to do and when — and handle the rest.

Three kinds of move

Which one applies depends on how much you are sending and where it is going. You do not need to work that out — describe the situation and we will.

01

International move

Relocating overseas

A whole household sent abroad. Packing, shipping, customs clearance and final delivery handled end to end. Cleared as household goods, most items come through duty free.

02

Interstate move

Moving to another state

Long-distance moves within the US. Packing, transport and placing furniture in the new home. Certain months book out early, so it is worth fixing dates ahead.

03

Boxes & student shipments

Sending a few boxes, not a household

Shipping by the box rather than by the room. Common at the end of a semester. Short-term storage can be arranged alongside it.

Whichever of these is the main business should come first.
If most work is international moves, that one gets the space and the others shrink. All three are shown at equal weight for now.
02 / Process

How it goes

There are two moments that need you: the estimate, and the day the boxes leave. Everything between is ours, and you hear from us at each stage.

STEP 01

Estimate

Send a few photos of what is going, or we come and look if you are nearby. You get a figure on the spot.

Estimates are free. Nothing is owed if you decide against it.
STEP 02

Dates & materials

We fix the date and send boxes and packing materials ahead if you need them.

STEP 03

Packing & pickup

We pack and load on the agreed day. Collecting boxes you packed yourself is fine too.

Mark anything fragile and it gets packed differently.
STEP 04

In transit

By sea, air or road depending on the destination. Once it leaves, you get an arrival window.

STEP 05

Customs

The stage people find most confusing. We tell you which documents are needed ahead of time and file on your behalf.

Late paperwork means longer in the warehouse. We chase this part for you.
STEP 06

Delivery

Brought to the receiving address. Placed where you want it, if you would like that.

Why there is
no price list

Two moves of the same description can differ several times over in cost. A published figure would be misleading. What we can set out is what determines it.

Volume

Charged by space, not weight. How many boxes is the biggest factor.

Destination

Which city, and how far from the port or terminal.

Method

Sea is cheaper and slower; air is faster and dearer. Your timing decides it.

Who packs

Packing yourself brings it down.
If we pack, damage is on us.

Season

Summer and end of semester are busy. Space is harder to get then.

Extras

Furniture disassembly, window removal, storage. Added only when needed.

One thing to check when comparing quotes.
Make sure customs clearance and final delivery at the destination are included. A quote missing those will grow later.
04 / Customs

Clearance is ours to handle

The part that worries people most on an international move. All you need to know is what to have ready.

What to prepare

  • Passport copy and visa or residency documents
  • Proof of relocation — required to clear as household goods
  • Contents list — what is in each box. We provide the form
  • Destination address and the recipient's contact number
The list above is a general one.
Actual requirements vary by destination and residency status, so it needs replacing with the real guidance. Wrong information here leaves a customer's shipment stuck in a warehouse.

05 / Questions

Questions we get a lot

How long does it take?

Weeks by sea, days by air, plus clearance time on arrival. The exact window depends on the destination and comes with your estimate.

Will I pay duty?

Cleared as household goods, most shipments are exempt. There are conditions and deadlines, so we confirm whether you qualify beforehand.

I have not packed yet and do not know the volume.

That is fine. A few photos are enough to estimate. You are billed on what actually ships.

Where do I get boxes?

We send them. Tell us roughly how many and what sizes.

I have fragile items.

Mark them and they are packed separately. Anything we pack, we are responsible for.

My dates are not fixed yet.

Book first and adjust later. In peak season slots fill quickly, so give us an approximate window at least.

Can you store things for a while?

Yes. Cost depends on how long, so let us know the period.

I have already left the country.

Still possible if someone can hand over the goods locally. The booking has to be in your name.

Is it insured?

There is a claims process for damage in transit. Scope and conditions are explained with the estimate.

These answers need replacing with the real terms.
Transit times, insurance scope and storage rates differ between companies. Wrong answers here turn into disputes later.

A few photos
are enough

Photos of the room or the stack of boxes will do. Tell us where it is going and roughly when.
